We, the CBSS PA Secure team, would like to share some news with you on important developments in the EUSBSR Policy Secure Area (jointly coordinated by the CBSS Secretariat and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB). This newsletter also provides a broader overview of key events and news about projects and other developments in the field of civil protection in the Baltic Sea Region.

Since the beginning of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, the work of all organisations working with societal security in the Baltic Sea Region has been focused on shelters, early warning systems, protection of critical infrastructure and, of course, assistance to Ukraine. With the addition of energy independency concerns and financial crisis there was seemingly little time and resources left for Baltic Sea cooperation. But we still managed to meet, exchange knowledge and start a few new projects and initiatives ranging from youth in disaster risk reduction to volunteerism.

Cooperation in both CBSS Civil Protection Network and PA Secure is active and more important than ever!

With this short Newsletter we wish you and your close ones Happy Holidays!

Our special wishes go to all Ukrainian people – we really hope that the war will finish soon and Ukraine will come back to a peaceful life.

Stay safe and secure!
PA Secure Team
