PA Secure contributed to several discussions and events at the EUSBSR Annual Forum 2026 in Tallinn, bringing the civil protection and societal security perspective into wider regional conversations on resilience, preparedness and cooperation with Ukraine.
Together with PA Health, colleagues from the Polish State Fire Service contributed to a session on sustaining the health and care workforce under pressure, including the psychological resilience of first responders. Due to the high interest in this topic, PA Secure and PA Health are planning to organise a dedicated workshop in autumn 2026. Read more on the EUSBSR website.
Local preparedness and community roles in crisis situations were also in focus. The PA Secure flagship project CREWS, together with ClimaResponse and BALTFLOODS, organised an interactive flood simulation exercise showing how local authorities, communities and civil society actors can work together in crisis response. PA Secure also co-organised a Ukraine-focused session on local-level cooperation, where long-term PA Secure collaborators from Vovchok Folk High School shared Ukrainian experience in resilience, community mobilisation and practical capacity-building. Read more on the EUSBSR website.
Finally, PA Secure coordinators contributed to the Interreg session on co-creating resilience, highlighting how transnational cooperation projects can strengthen preparedness, local capacity and regional security in the Baltic Sea Region. Read more on the EUSBSR website.
At the Networking Village, the PA Secure stand hosted several projects and initiatives connected to the Policy Area’s priorities:
- CREWS supports cooperation between public authorities, local communities and civil society actors in crisis and disaster management.
- Baltic Individual Crisis Preparedness Barometer is a Baltic Sea Region research initiative exploring citizens’ preparedness, from threat perception and trust to practical preparedness and willingness to act.
- PrepAlliance connects organisations working with citizen preparedness across borders and invites new partners to join as PrepAllies.
- BALTFLOODS strengthens local flood preparedness by combining real-time environmental monitoring, digital tools and citizen participation.
