The Baltic Excellence Programme (BEP) in Civil Security will be held in Tinglev, Denmark, 18-20 November 2019 during the Danish presidency of the Council of Baltic Sea States (1st July 2019–30th June 2020), which includes chairing the cooperation of the Civil Protection Network.

The BEP 2019 is expected to concern themes related to a safe and secure Baltic Sea region and focusing on issues of trans-boundary interest (such as climate related challenges) as well as strategic leadership. Also, group work is planned to underpin the themes as well as the intentions of creating networks and common understanding across borders in the region. DEMA expects to invite participating states to an exchange of ideas regarding the programme, especially the troika consisting of Latvia and Lithuania besides Denmark.
