How is work in civil protection/societal security connected to the SDGs? At first glance, it would seem that by facilitating international cooperation in our area we contribute only to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). However, since the SDGs are designed to be interconnected and indivisible, and closely looking at all the targets and indicators, it is obvious that our contribution covers many SDGs, such as eradicating poverty (SDG 1, by improving resilience to climate-related extreme events, for example) or good health and well-being (SDG 3, by strengthening countries’ capacity for early warning and risk reduction).
