Latvian LAPAS to Chair BSR NOVA Network of Volunteers and Authorities

The Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation (LAPAS) has been confirmed as the new Chair of the Baltic Sea Region Network of Volunteer Organisations and Authorities (BSR NOVA) for the period 1 March 2026 – 28 February 2028. The decision follows a call for expressions of interest, with no additional nominations received.

The Network will be led by LAPAS Director, Inese Vaivare, who will guide its work with a focus on member-centricity, growth, and long-term cooperation across the Baltic Sea Region. Her vision highlights the increasing importance of civil society in strengthening civil protection and whole-of-society resilience.

LAPAS takes over from the Finnish National Rescue Association (SPEK), whose leadership established a strong foundation for the Network’s development. Members expressed appreciation for SPEK’s contribution and confidence in a smooth and forward-looking transition.

PA Secure will continue to support the Chair and the Network’s activities in the coming term.
