The From Gaps to Caps Team reunited in Riga at the end of May for seminars on Task C & D.
The task leaders, Björn Karlsson from the University of Iceland and Jürgen Krempin from the Fire & Rescue Department Hamburg, guided the partners through the results achieved so far and the next steps ahead. We welcomed Ieva Monika Jankuvienė from the Fire and Rescue Department of Lithuania as new project manager, who will lead the smooth process to the first project report and further.
To get a broader image of the work already happening in the region, all partners presented their national models of risk assessment. Further presentations from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom on their approach to risk assessments were given on day one. The two external experts stayed throughout the seminar, in order to give an outside perspective, creating an enriching dialogue between all partners.
Our host, the State Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia organised a fantastic stay in Riga, showed us around the Old Town of Riga and took us to the Baltic sea side of Jurmula.
After a busy summer period of preparing the first report ahead of us, the team will meet again in Tallinn in November.
