The ChYResilience Project – Throle of children and youth in building a resilient society, started 1 September 2020. ChYResilience aims to empower children and youth to play an active role as contributors to societal resilience and to remove barriers to their active involvement in prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

The CBSS Secretariat is the lead partner. The project is a collaboration between the Civil Security and Children at Risk teams at the CBSS Secretariat.

Project partners are:

The objective of the project is to identify and explore critical factors that enable or hinder children to play an active role in building resilient societies. The project will identify initiatives and good practices that address or promote these factors and help prepare children and youth to play an active role in their safety and security, and to contribute to the stability and resilience of society.

The primary project activity will be a pre-study on preparing children and youth for prevention and effective action in the event of a crisis. Focus group consultations are planned to take place in Warsaw, Riga, and Tallinn, with the partner organisations and local youth representatives.

The ChYResilience project is co-funded by the Swedish Institute.
