The second Baltic Border Committee under the Swedish Chairmanship in the Baltic Sea Region Border Control Cooperation (BSRBCC), gathered in Malmö, Sweden on 9-11 October 2018, to discuss current issues of cooperation in protecting external borders. The newly launched www.bsrbcc.org website was presented to the participants as well as the Action Plan for the upcoming Danish presidency.
A representative from the Danish National Police highlighted the plans to continue the implementation of the data transmission system COASTNET during the Danish presidency of the BSRBCC, as well as to organise the Baltic Tracking 2019 Joint Operation, in cooperation with Sweden.
Janusz Gąciarz, Senior Adviser for Civil Security at the CBSS Secretariat provided the participants with the latest updates from the Secretariat’s work: the upcoming Baltic Leadership Programme Alumni Conference in Riga, the launch of the Baltic Sea Region Network on Societal Security (BSR-RNSS), preparations for the large CBRNE stakeholders forum (TREFF CBRNE-BSR ), and the Goldfinger project, led by the Swedish Police.
